The Musical Artist in Residence is a 10-week residency that supports emerging and established musicians working in any genre, with any instrument. This program provides our community with learning experiences, including performing, publishing, and songwriting opportunities.
Easy HD (they / them) is a musician, composer, audio engineer, and sound designer that has been habitating musical corners of the prairies since 2008. Inspired by traditional synthesizer music and informed by contemporary electronica, they approach their practice with a sense of exploration and curiosity, informed by their research into the history of electronic music and obsolete recording technologies. They employ a number of contemporary compositional techniques such as Musique Concrete, Microsound, Quantum Listening, and Post-Tonal experimentation. Easy HD is endlessly fascinated by the recontextualization of found sound recordings, the art of audio recording to capture a moment in time, and the manufacturing of real and / or fictional spaces through audio and ambience.
The Musical Artist in Residence is pleased to consult with emerging and established musicians of all ages to discuss technique, songwriting, performance, or whatever aspect of the music industry would be most helpful.
