Calling All Powwow Dancers and Drummers

Calgary Public Library is excited to present the Powwow Trail 101 program, a vibrant summer dance exhibition celebrating First Nations culture and tradition. 

 We are seeking skilled powwow Dancers and Drummers ages 8 to Senior to participate. 

Program Dates 

  • June 25: Saddletowne Library
  • July 16: Seton Library
  • July 23: Guiffre Library 
  • August 13: Southwood Library 
  • August 27: Crowfoot Library

Eligibility for Dancers:

  • Open to all First Nations dancers living within the City of Calgary
  • Preference will be given to Treaty 7 Nation members
  • Dancers must have complete dance regalia
  • Powwow dance experience required 

Eligibility for Drummers: 

  • Open to all First Nations drummers living within the City of Calgary
  • Preference will be given to Treaty 7 Nation members
  • Must be a group of three to five drummers
  • Powwow experience required. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talent, share cultural teachings, and connect with the community.
