Reading doesn’t have to be something you do on your own. Book clubs are a great way to meet and create lasting connections with people who have similar reading interests to you. It’s a chance to go beyond the pages of a book and dive deeper into plots, characters, themes, and so much more.
Start a new book club or take your existing one to the next level with free resources at the Library. Whether you’re not sure where to start or are looking for book recommendations for your group — we have programs, spaces, and tools to help you stay motivated.
Purchasing a new book for all of your book club gatherings can be pricey. However, Calgary Public Library has multiple ways to find books of interest and make them accessible for everyone in your book club:
Sometimes, it can feel like a lot of work to host people in your home. Instead, book a free meeting room at any Library location around the city to meet and discuss your latest book club pick. Many Library meeting rooms come with the equipment you’ll need to run a hybrid virtual and in-person meeting, as well. Book a meeting room on our website.
Having a tough time finding people to join your book club? Join fellow readers outside of Memorial Park Library every Sunday afternoon until August 25. Choose a book to read in the sun and chat about your favourite authors with other book lovers. Learn more about Reading in the Park on our website.
Did you know that every summer at the Library, you’re eligible to win incredible prizes just by reading every day? By participating in the Ultimate Summer Challenge and reading every day, you’ll keep your mind sharp and ease back into the school year.
While you’re keeping up with your latest book club read, sign up for the Ultimate Summer Challenge!
